To jailbreak or Tether Boot your device on iOS 6.0.1 you'll need to point redsn0w to the 6.0 IPSW every time you load it. Like so.. Download your Stock 6.0 IPSW for your device. To find your IPSW file click your device on this page http://theiphonewiki.com/wiki/Firmware Download the latest redsn0w here https://sites.google.com/a/iphone-dev.com/files/ 1 Load redsn0w Windows users need to always right click the app and select " run as administrator " 2 Go to " Extras > Specify IPSW " and load your stock 6.0 ipsw. Then To Jailbreak - Hit Jailbreak on the main screen and follow the steps and install Cydia.. To Tether Boot - Go to " Extras > Just Boot " and follow the steps shown. Troubleshooting USB connection error - Stuck on Pineapple Logo - Reboot computer and device, Switch usb ports and try again.. -1
thanks mark... sorry am not an expert but i kno d steps ellaborated above, my question is... is stock 6.0 the same with firmware 6.0ipsw? ipsw ( iPhone software ) = firmware.. Just find the 6.0 firmware for your device and load it in to redsn0w every time you load it like my post says. you'll also need to do that to tether boot. -1
i have problem with selection the latest redsnow... i downloaded redsn0w_win_0.9.9b9d.zip and still tells me "this version does not support the ipsw" and that seems to be d highest version of the link u gave me above... thanks for your time and kind patience download redsn0w 0.9.15b3 from the link in the post above.. 1

i still got the "unsupported ipsw" error message... am so out of idea right now then you have the wrong ipsw or redsn0w... redsn0w 0.9.15b3 ? Load redsn0w and go to Extras > even more > identify Replay back with your product type : -1
only d "custom ipsw" tab enables me pick either of the stocks... but i dont know if i can still go tru dat process,... do the "select IPSW" and "custom IPSW" tabs perform same task? thx This is the " 6.0 " ipsw you need to load in redsn0w as shown above " every time you load it " http://appldnld.apple.com/iOS6/Restore/041-7173.20120919.sDDMh/iPhone2,1_6.0_10A403_Restore.ipsw that will get you past the " missing keys.plist data for this build " to load your 6.0 ipsw in redsnow do this.. Load redsn0w and go to Extras > Specify ipsw & load your 6.0 IPSW.. NOT 6.0.1 -1
am on the redsnow rite now and theres no where it says SPECIFY IPSW... i could see the SELECT IPSW, CUSTOM IPSW...amidst other tabs... is SPECIFY IPSW same with SELECT IPSW... cos clicking the SELECT IPSW keeps popping UNSUPPORTED IPSW... fingerprint: *** -1
i have loaded the 6.0 and still popping same error code... even after downloading the latest redsnow frm the link u sent above. LOAD IT HERE - http://grab.by/jaAq -1
thank a million... i appreciate every stp by stp guide from u sire... i completed the jailbreak and tryd to tether boot but it displays error regard d shsh blobs... and deres no network on my iphone,,, no service it displays... and d cydia doesnt come up. how can i go about this pls. thx you don't need shsh to boot tethered. just follow the same steps you took to jailbreak. Load redsn0w and select your 6.0 ipsw then go to " extras > just boot and follow the steps.. again no SHSH to boot tethered. if redsn0w ask for it then you did something wrong.. thx sire... i got it all correctly having my phone jb with baseband 06.15 but no service... i read about downgrading/upgrading baseband.. but i dont understand which baseband would work for my iphone 3gs 6.0.1 1
use redsn0w to downgrade that bb.. then you need to install ultrasn0w and ultrasn0w fixer if on 6.0.1 1
to downgrade the bb load redsn0w and load your 6.0 ipsw like before and hit " jailbreak " then DE-select cydia and only select " downgrade ipad bb " if it don't work the first time try it again. you should end up with 05.13 witch works with ultrasn0w and fixes GPS. don't forget to install the ultrasn0w fixer if on 6.0.1.. 4
Honestly it sounds like you should not be tethered jailbreaking, a tethered jailbreak is not practical for someone who is not tech savvy and does not understand the intricacies of a tethered jailbreak. (it's a pain in the ass). I love my jailbreak, but it's not for everyone. -1
thanks for the headsup JuergenWest... i also love jailbreak, dont u feel i too should enjoy it? Markhack took me tru all the processes step by step until i arrived at where i am currently... i got a no service all d way... pls i'd appreciate any help u rendered here... thanks -1
thx mark... ur d best 1
everything working ok now ? -1
u/ve bn really dere Mark... thanks for ur support and patience... i have to let u be... i've tryd all the steps but the network bar wont just show up... i really aappreciate every time u spent trying to make this a success... ive learnt alot from u bigboss... thx once again 1
try UN-installing and reinstalling both ultrasn0w packages and rebooting the device. let it sit up to 5 mins after doing that.. and anytime, it's what we are here for. -1
though the ultrasn0w fixer i got here in my cydia says ultrasnow fixer 5.1.1... is that exactly wat am looking out for? 1
6.0.1 add this repo in cydia http://repo.iparelhos.com -1
i noticed dat whenever my device is restarted, d cydia crashes wen i try to open it and safari doesnt function... until i have to go tru redsnow tethered boot... is there anyway i might have don something wrongly? 1
that's what tethered is, you'll have to follow the tether boot steps to reboot your device. 3
After all that, you wanna pirate. What a waste of time. 1
EPIC Facepalm 2
people who "insist" on "needing" a jailbreak, only want it for one reason.. to steal apps, thought it was obvious to y'all from the get go.. sad but true.. this is why I politely steer them away earlier on in the convo.. 1
Hindsight is 20/20 :D 1
You'll get no more help here, thief. I really am sorry @y'all... I may have misunderstood d process... I don't have any bad intention... It's just dat where am frm we really aren't used to such purchases... Thanks for the headsup... I love learning and I think I've just learnt a great lesson dat "don't pirate good ppls effort". I love u all... I got my iPhone working and I've started purchasing my apps frm App Store as appropriate. Except for the push not working wen apps are closed... Thx guys, I can still live with dat and ill forever appreciate ur love and kind attention y'all |
