I just jailbroke my iPhone 3gs and am trying to reboot (tethered) for the first time and I seem to be forever stuck in the screen where it says "Please wait while your build is being processed" and "waiting for reboot".

The progress bar at the bottom just keeps spinning away, not indicating that any progress is happening.

Any advice, help on this would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you.

What antivirus do you have?

What firmware is it on? What redsn0w version are you using? Since it is the first time, I assume you have not installed anything from cydia? If so it should boot semi-tethered when you hard reboot. Does it?

By firmware, do you mean version of IOS? If so, 6.0.1 (10A523). redsnOw 0.9.15b3. I have not installed anything since the initial jailbreak. For the most part it boots up in 6.0.1 however the mail app and Safari both crash shortly after opening every time but everything els seems to be okay.

Make sure you selected the 6.0 IPSW before booting tethered.

Yes, I select 6.0. and then it sticks, waiting to reboot for hours.

Okay! I tried changing the sequence of how I was doing this and it worked! I was shuting down the iPhone and plugging it into the computer before starting the redsnOw app and was running into the problem. Thanks to adaminsull, I started redsnOw and selected the IPSW before doing anything else. Thank you, thank you!

Go to extras>Select an IPSW and select the 6.0 IPSW. You must do this even after just jailbreaking.

Yes, I've done this, selected the 6.0 IPSW but gets hung up just after that point. I thought perhaps it takes a while to do it's magic but after two hours of the blue and white progress bar just spinning, I think it has to be something else. The file I have is this: iPhone2,1_6.0_10A403_Restore.ipsw That is what I used earlier today to do the jailbreak.

BTW, I'm using an iMac, FYI.
