You can use Cydia Impactor if you need to un-jailbreak an 8.1-8.4 device without restoring.

How to fix some mysterious problems.

Jailbroke iphone 4 6.0.1 following directions to a t, cydia not installed. booted tethered, cyida not installed even though pineapple showing. uninstalled anti virus, redsnow updated, using 6.0.1_10a523_restore.ispw selecting before jailbreaking or booting tethered.

You need to use the 6.0 IPSW (10A403) with redsn0w in order to boot tethered.

10a403 same issue, jailbreak happens, pineapple symbol, then reboot tethered and no pineapple and no cydia.
