How to fix some mysterious problems.

I'm running 4.2.1/Mac OSX/GP RC6.

I enter DFU mode fine (I think), my iPhone's screen goes black and GP says it's jailbreaking, but then it says it fails.

I've restored my iPhone and restarted my MacBook, but that didn't solve anything.

Any help would be great.

Thanks for the responses, but I finally got it to work.

I opened GP with terminal by using an application called "Pseudo" and everything went smoothly.

Do you have another computer to try there? Ive seen that issue mostly with only windows computers, but surely it would apply to a mac also. See if you can use another mac or windows computer to jailbreak it.

and/or try another usb port. Try another cable.

Good Luck

p.s. I jailbroke 2 iPhone 4's with a mac with no issues.

Plug iPhone into the computer, Open Greenpois0n, power your device off, Click prepare to Jailbreak (DFU) wait 3 seconds, hold Power for 3 seconds, Hold HOME + POWER for 10 Seconds, then hold HOME for 15 seconds. You will know you entered DFU correctly if the last steps ends at 8 seconds left. Now the screen will turn white, then black, with the words Greebpois0n Initialized. (it will say some files are not found, but thats normal) Leave the iPhone connected, it will now start to verboose, witch means a bunch of words and so forth are passing by yourscreen. now its time to wait untill GP says Quit and ( in the bottom lefthand corner by the bar) says "jailbreak complete :)" This is the time you can unplug your iPhone, but i still would not reccomend touching it. Now once you see the Apple boot logo, look for a GP skull that will appear as your Bootlogo to replace the Apple boot logo in a minute or two. Once you are able to use your iPhone look for a green app called loader... open loader while connected to internet and download cydia. It will get to 45% and then install. (i dont know why) then your iPhone will respring. Now delete by going to options in loader. your iPhone will again respring. You are now done :) Good luck
