How to fix some mysterious problems.

I am attempting to jailbreak am iPhone 4 CDMA with iOS 6.0.1

in redsn0w 0.9.15b3 /extras/select IPSW I downloaded and selected iPhone3,3_6.0_10A403_Restore.ipsw

then select "just boot" (tethered right now)

Hold appropriate buttons and all goes as described.

Success message appears and "all other operations take place on the phone message

Phone reboots with Redsn0w icon, then apple icon BUT

Cydia is not installed

Is there something wrong here or am I missing something?

Should I or can I download it manually?

The phone is not activated/ it is verizon/ it is connected to my wifi

Did you select "install cydia" when you jailbroke?

You have to select the 6.0 ipsw, not the 6.0.1. Re-read the instructions, it's in there.

That is what I have been doing.

It finally did install cydia but it appears to open and then closes.

Then the boot tethered isn't working. Did you uninstall any antivirus?

using a computer I am not familiar with. Don't know what is installed. Guess I should switch to one with a clean install OS so I know there is no antivirus. I should know as much as I use Macs but I am not sure. I

Try and open mail or safari. If they open, the jailbreak itself did not work and you need to redo the jailbreak part.

If they do NOT open, you need to retry the just boot part

Make sure you selected the IPSW again before you booted tethered.

Uninstall (at least temporarily) any antivirus products other than MSE, which is the only one known not to interfere with redsn0w. Even when the jailbreak is successful, the tethered boot is often the point that antivirus products interfere during.

Missing keys.plist is mean that your ipsw file is wrong
