Hi, I have a very bad problem. I am using an iPhone 3GS on ios 6.0.1 and I factory reset it forgetting the sim card reader was broken. I have tried to jailbreak heaps and kept running into the "missing keys.plist" error and I finally bypassed that and it said redsn0w won't support the version. I am definitely using 15b3 redsn0w (the file name is " redsn0w_win_0.9.15b3.zip ") and the file name for the ipsw I am using is " iPhone2,1_6.0.1_10A523_Restore.ipsw ".

Please help me ASAP, the iPhone is useless to me as I wait.

Yup redsn0w_win_0.9.15b3 doesn't support iOS 6.0.1 yet but don't worry its simple you need to download iOS 6.0 from http://blog.iphone-dev.org/, then select iOS 6.0 with redsnow 0.9.15b13. After selecting you can jailbreak iOS 6.0.1 with it, but remember that every time you turn off your iPhone and want to restart it again, you need to use "Just Boot" in redsn0w.

So how do I get an UNTETHERED ios 6.0 3GS with Redsn0w?

you dont unless its an old bootrom. You tell that by the first five of the serial. If the 3rd digit is a 9 and the next 2 are 40 or less, old boot. if the 3rd is a 0, 1, or 2 (or a 9 with the next 2 being 41 or higher) its new bootrom

Where do you find the serial number? Note: I do not have the box, manual or anything but the device and charger and it is jammed in "factory reset mode" hence the problem.

its not guaranteed to be correct since the sim card tray is interchangeable (a 3g tray works in a 3gs for example), but on the back of the sim card tray should be the imei and serial number

I downloaded an iOS 6.0 ipsw and when I did "Select IPSW" it said the vesion was not supported. When I did "Custom IPSW" it asked for blobs, which I don't have.

The IPSW file I used was called: "iPhone2,1_6.0_10A403_Restore.zip" and I used 7zip to extract it, then I re-archived to "iPhone2,1_6.0_10A403_Restore.ipsw". And yes, I opened the archive and it had to files correctly positioned with a folder called "Firmware" and a heap of files with the file extensions ".dmg" and ".plist".

and I just checked and it is an old bootrom with the serial number of: 939*** (I put the sim back in hence the astericks)

Also, thanks a lot fo your help so far, I feel like I am getting closer to getting this working, I really appreciate the help.

You used internet explorer to download it? All you have to do is rename it from .zip to .ipsw
