Have you ever updated to iOS 5.1.1 with your 3GS? If not unfortunately you're stuck there.

so there's no way that i can update my OS to 5.1.1? because this is the first time that i'll update the OS...

Unfortunately, no. When Apple stops signing a certain firmware in this case iOS 5.1.1 you can't update or downgrade to that firmware without SHSH blobs. But since you've never updated you won't have any. Also you can't use someone else's blobs since their specific to every device.

how about updating to 4.2 to 4.3 OS can i still do that?

You can't update to anything without SHSH blobs. Sorry.

so my last choice is to update into iOS 6? right?

Correct.

But you will lose your unlock (if you have one) if you update to iOS 6.

does unlocking doesn't work on iOS 6?

i have one more question. what is old-bootrom for iphone 3GS? this is what i saw on the FAQ. http://www.jailbreakqa.com/questions/32462/frequently-asked-questions#94647 How do I restore (downgrade/upgrade) my device to a non-latest iOS version above iOS 5.0? Since Apple has introduced an APTicket/APNonce check for restores to iOS 5 and later, the TinyUmbrella TSS Server procedure does not work anymore when restoring to any version of iOS 5.x or later (you can still use that procedure for restoring to iOS 4.x if you want, but the following stitching procedure should work too). Instead, you need to create and restore to a custom IPSW (custom firmware file) with stitched SHSH blobs. (If you're lucky enough to have an old-bootrom iPhone 3GS, you don't need SHSH blobs and can go through this process without doing the stitching steps.)

thanks,

Old boot rom is the oldest 3GS. It came with an older boot rom that made it jailbreak able on all iOS. Ultras now doesnt work properly on iOS 6. So I would stay on iOS 4.

You could downgrade without worrying about SHSH blobs.

if in case that my phone is an old-bootrom that means i can upgrade to 5.1.1 or any iOS that is want?

Yes but chances are you don't have the old bootrom.

If you're 100% sure you are using an OLD bootrom use snow breeze to create a custom iPSW. Select Old bootrom and create your iPSW. Enter PWNed DFU mode with the onscreen instructions. Open iTunes, hold shift and click restore. Select restore and select the iPSW you made.
