Help with jailbreaking and Cydia for iPhones, iPads, and iPod touches.

Hello,

My AT&T iPhone was previously jailbroken and unlocked on 4.3.3 with Gevey sim. I purchased one of those IMEI unlocks from one of those sites that offer the service. At first, I tried using redsn0w to de-activate the phone and then re-activate but I kept getting an error "We’re sorry, but there was an error processing your request. Please try again later." I tried updating to official iOS6 and activating it but I still get the same error. It won't activate through Wi-fi either. I've tried using different computers and different sim cards but it's still not working. Is it possible to hacktivate the iPhone and get past the activation screen with redsn0w. If I did this, would my non AT&T sim card get service since it's IMEI unlocked?

It was actually a seller on eBay. He had 100% positive feedback and good reviews from eBayers so I don't think it was a scam. Is there any way to activate it? Usually if it's not accepting a non-AT&T sim, it will say something like "that sim is not supported" but this is actually trying to activate the iPhone. I don't have an AT&T sim card to try activating with either to see if it won't activate even with an AT&T sim.

If iTunes didn't say "Congratulations, your iPhone is now unlocked" then you're not unlocked. Yet. You can activate with a sim from the provider it's currently locked to, whether or not said sim has service.

You only get that message after it's successfully activated through iTunes. I can't get that message because it won't allow me to activate. Here is a picture of the message I get: http://i47.tinypic.com/2mqnvus.png If the phone wasn't unlocked, it would say "This sim card is not supported" but this is not the case, it is accepting the sim card, but it just can't be activated to get past the activation screen.

Will I be able to get past the activation screen if I use a custom IPSW?

You can hacktivate to get past that screen. Run redsn0w>Jailbreak>Put phone in DFU mode, uncheck all the boxes (unless you don't have cydia and do want it), finish the process.
