Help with jailbreaking and Cydia for iPhones, iPads, and iPod touches.

Question

Yesterday (9/27/2012) I downloaded some updates from Cydia, for Cydia (if that makes sense). I don't remember the names of these files as I wasn't paying attention to what they where, just that they needed to be update, I think that one of them was "mobilesubstrate". After I downloaded all the updates I respringed my device and it crashed and has been stuck on boot logo. I tried restoring on itunes but I get a 3194 error, I tried the "Just Boot" option on Redsnow 0.9.14b2 but that didn't help, later just tried to jailbreak it and that also failed. I've also deleted the "DynamicLibraries" folder, the launchd.conf and the "gs.apple" thing from my host files. I can access the ipod with iFunBox and SSH and itunes recognize the ipod, it just wont boot.

You already messed up system files beyond repair by deleting stuff. You need to restore the firmware. See this FAQ entry on how to restore to 5.1.1 custom ipsw with stitched blobs.

Thanks a lot, finally got Itunes to restore my ipod. I tried googleling how to get out of boot loop but all the suggestions didn't work. Also didn't knowthat you needed custom ipsw for recovering ios 5.x and up.

Well if it got stuck at apple simply put it into DFU mode that happend to me too before but I simply put it in DFU mode and it fixed but it more not work since you deleted important files also DFU mode helps if you iPhone gets bricked it happend to me before I used DFU mode and it fixed try it!

What?? Just putting a device into dfu doesn't magically fix things. Please don't answer older already solved questions with nonsense mr I deleted something I shouldn't have with ifile

Put it in DFU mode it might fix it my iPhone got stuck at apple logo then it would start spinning like it was respringing under te apple logo and I put it in DFU mode and it simply booted as normal
