How to fix some mysterious problems.

I'm currently running jailbroken and unlocked iOS 4.0.1 on my 3GS. I have BB 05.13.04 and bootrom 359.3.2. When I upgrade to 4.2.1 will I be able to jailbreak and unlock my device?

enter pwned DFU mode using either iReb or Redsnow, then use iTunes to restore the custom 3GS firmware found in the below link:

Please make sure you use the firmware in the megaupload link above in order to maintain your current baseband, after that you will be on 4.2.1 but still with your olf baseband.

Now you can run GP to jailbreak and then install Ultrasn0w to unlock.

Yes, you will be able to jailbreak and unlock but you have to make a custom ipsw that keeps your baseband for the 4.2.1 framework, and install that one on your phone, and not the official one, if you do install the official one by mistake you'll not be able to go back to your baseband.

Here is a tutorial on how to do it:

After following the tutorial run the latest greenpois0n for jailbreaking.
